UK Home contents insurance claim – digital camera?

Has anyone succesfully claimed against their Home contents insurance for a Digital Camera? I have accidental damage & personal possessions insurance, but would like to know if anyone has succesfully claimed and what had happened to the camera?!

Most Contents Insurance have an accidental damage section – and this often includes items up to some value outside the house.

Unfortunately, chances are you will have an ‘excess’ of at least £100 (i.e. £100 is deducted from each claim) … not a problem if you have been flooded out and are claiming 1,000′s worth of TV, DVD Sky Home Cinema equipment (plus carpets etc.) .. but if you are claiming for a £250 Digital Camera you will only get £150 .. and most Policies will include some sort of ‘no claims’ discount – so your premium might well go up by more than £100 in a year ..
